André was a supporting character who appeared in the episode Panda Power.
André was an American sculpter who usually worked in New York city. Matt Trakker hired André to make a giant sculpture of a panda for a panda preserve he helped develop in China. He used a laser chiselling tool to shape rock into the form he wanted. When André had almost finished his sculpture, panda's from the reserve and other places in China mysteriously began to disappear.
On the day of the unveiling ceremony in Tian'anmen Square, Beijing, André wanted to check the facial features of the stone panda once last time before the crowds arrived. He and Trakker went up to the top of the sculpture in an elevator. André was kidnapped by V.E.N.O.M. agents Vanessa Warfield and Sly Rax, who scooped him up into a container attached to Warfield's vehicle Manta. Trakker was knocked off the scaffolding but thanks to his son Scott, managed to land safely in a cart filled with tomatoes.
André was taken to Easter Island where he was forced to make Miles Mayhem's dream come true: he had to change the appearance of the Easter island statues to resemble the faces of each member of V.E.N.O.M. In order to make sure no one would dare fire a shot at them from the air, Mayhem had kidnapped China's panda's and let them loose to graze on Easter Island.
Having finished the statue of Mayhem, Cliff Dagger and Vanessa Warfield started to argue which one of them would be imortalized in stone next. Meanwhile, Matt Trakker and his M.A.S.K. colleaugues found a way to lure the panda's away from the statues by dropping a crate of panda food. The V.E.N.O.M. agents left André there as they got into their vehicles to battle M.A.S.K.
Behind the Scenes[]
- André was voiced by Brendan McKane.
- In the novelization published by Knight Books, André is aware of Matt Trakker's secret identity as the leader of M.A.S.K. During the battle between M.A.S.K. and V.E.N.O.M., André becomes so frightened that he hopes to never look at a piece of sculpture again and that he will take up finger painting. After the battle is won, André joins the M.A.S.K. agents before the baby panda is reunited with it's parents.
