Plot Synopsis[]
The Episode opens with Scott his father, T-Bob and Bruce Sato are driving along a road somewhere in Italy. They eventually pass the Colosseum. T-Bob comments that they will need to fix it up if they want to get a "Major league franchise!" Mat then reminds Scott that they are going to see a professor friend of his, who has uncovered some rare artifacts at a near by dig site. Meanwhile at the dig site work men are carefully moving artifacts around.
Suddenly Julius Caesar appears and tells the workers that they have angered him! He shoots a laser beam out of one of his fingers, which cuts the rope holding up a column that was being moved. He demands that they leave at once! The workers refuse to continue the excavation.
When Matt and the group arrive, Matt quickly realizes that was not the work of a ghost. His suspicions are confirmed when his portable computer concludes that the rope was cut by a laser developed by V.E.N.O.M.!
Matt quickly asks the computer for the best MASK agents for the mission:
The computer's first pick is Gloria Baker. Gloria, is presently in a Dojo, in the middle of a Martial arts match with a boy in his mid teens, with a mullet haircut. The boy aggressively throws a punch, which Gloria easily blocks. He then tries to attack her with a side kick, leaving him defenseless for an attack in the process. Gloria blocks it and charges her young opponent, who is unable to get his guard up and other foot back on the mat in time to fend off her attack. She grabs his uniform, sweeps his foot and throws him to the mat! Suddenly her watch begins to beep, indicating a page from Matt. She quickly runs out of the Dojo as her opponent tries to tackle her only to land on his head on roll over into a sitting position on the mat.
Next Hondo MacLean, Who is watching two boys, who seem to be up to something, very carefully! His watch begins to beep and he slides down the banister, to the shook of the two teens.
Bruce Sato is the last and is under the heading of "preselected." Meanwhile, in a near by cave, being used by V.E.N.O.M. we find that that Sly Rax has been portraying Julius Caesar, the hole thing is a scam to make it easier for V.E.N.O.M. to steal shown on a mat he now has.
Meanwhile, at an Italian restaurant, Scott decides, in his infinite wisdom, that its alright for him and T-Bob to head back to the dig site. After all, his father told him not to look for bronze coins not gold coins, which is what he now wants look for. Scott puts his massive meal inside one of T-Bobs compartments and they head off.
While this is happening, Matt and the team figure out that V.E.N.O.M. is looking for Caesar's Sword, so they can use its power. as a map to it has been stolen recently!
Meanwhile, back at the dig site, Scott and T-Bob are digging for coins. They find a tunnel and fall into it! At the bottom they find that they are now in the catacombs, as well as more bronze coins.
They decide to keep searching for coins, using food to mark their path. A cat soon follows them and begins to "eat" their trail.
Meanwhile, V.E.N.O.M. have found their, through the catacombs, to below a fountain located above ground. Not knowing this they begin to hit the area with laser beams which cause the ground to cave in! Gloria quickly rescues the drowning tourists. Hondo catches site of V.E.N.O.M., though a crack in the ground. Bruce uses one of his weapons to bring them to the surface.
As the fight continues, Sly, searching on his own, has found Caesar's sword. Sly decides he will use it for himself instead.
Meanwhile ,T-Bob and Scott have not found anything. Worse still they find the cat, that has been eating they trail of food they have been leaving. On top of this, they soon run into Sly, who now has the sword! T-Bob manages to distract Sly by releasing the rest of Scott's lunch from his his compartment, it lands all over Sly. Some cats appear and begin chase Sly, because of the food that he is now covered in. Scott finds and pics up the sword.
Matt finds T-Bob, Scott and V.E.N.O.M. on his sonar, and that they are being chased . At the Colosseum, V.E.N.O.M. manages to get the sword away from Scott only to find that it has no power at all. They discard it and quickly make their escape!
