The Golden Goddess (Episode 16)

The Government Official was a minor character who appeared in the episode The Golden Goddess.

The Government Official had an appointment for a meeting with Matt Trakker and Bruce Sato when they were visiting Singapore. He stressed that his country was always grateful for Trakker's interest in preserving it's historical treasures.

Shortly before the meeting began, a special courier from the P.N.A. brought a paper message for Trakker, confirming that Miles Mayhem was in the region. The Official was unaware who Mayhem was.

At that point, a monk burst into the Official's office to tell him that the Golden Altar of Savaal had disappeared into thin air. It was the third of three golden relics that had vanished like this. The Official told Trakker he was worried that the next day, the countries most valuable relic, the Shrine of the Golden Goddess of Sarawak, would be unsealed for it's annual worship ceremony.

The Golden Goddess of Sarawak, Singapore's symbol of peace and harmony, was made of 2000 pounds of solid gold. If anything happened to it, the result could be a civil war.

During the visit, Bruce Sato discovered that V.E.N.O.M. agent Vanessa Warfield was in the building, taking pictures of the old sevage/drain system. The Official was called away by an aide to speak to the prime minister about the latest theft on the phone.

The next day, the official was present at the unveiling of the Golden Goddess and his worst fears came true: the statue was gone. A bearded monk exclaimed that a prophecy of doom had fallen upon them.

Unknown to the Government Official, Matt Trakker had already dispatched a team of M.A.S.K. agents. The discovered that V.E.N.O.M. had found a way to liquify the gold statues and had transported them through the old city sewers. Eventually, M.A.S.K. managed to retrieve the gold, which had been molded into peticabs and repainted. Luckilly the Government of Singapore was still in possession of the original molds with which the Golden Goddess had been created, so they managed to restore it to it's original glory and put it back on display.
